Yeah, haven't logged on in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG while and for that I apologize :( TBH I just haven't really done anything (read: finished) lately. I have a few sketches I work at at my roleplaying group which are fun, but I need to buckle down and actually get them completed. Though with work ten hours a day Sun, Mon, and Tues nights, gaming on Thursday nights, and Warhammer on Fri or Sat nights I just don't have the time I used to (plus Borderlands, Demon's Souls, and Uncharted 2 are also eating up my time ^^;)

Hopefully I'll get something finished soon so I feel less worthless to the community and my watchers as a whole. If not, my apologies in advance :D

Just popped past 5,000 views just now and am super stoked!!! Many many thanks to everyone who has supported me, lit a fire under my ass, given me encouragement, brought my work to the attention of others, and/or done anything similar. You have all helped me grow in some way, shape or form and I appreciate it! :D

Its my Friday at work, so I got some time off the next few days and will hopefully have a celebratory piece thrown up in a few days (though I have no idea what I'm going to do for it, any suggestions?)

Thanks again everyone, and a very special thanks to a few particular people (you know who you are :D)

So I got featured by :iconphoenix-phyrefox: in a 3D Showcase [link] This is incredibly awesome as I've never been featured before, so I'm ecstatic and humbled that someone thought so highly of a piece of my art to feel the need to bring it to the attention of others.

Many thanks to Phoenix-Phyrefox, as well as the others who have continued to support me!

So I got a new job that gives me a lot of down time (I'm a night auditor at a local hotel from 10pm to 8am) and that's given me the chance to work on some new art pieces, one of which I already put up. Its actually quite nice to have a distraction free (for the most part) place for me to just draw and work on bits and pieces here and there.

Hopefully this will give me a chance to really get some more ideas on paper and onto here quicker! Keep an eye out :D

Apparently there are some people out there who feel you're not really a "skilled artist" unless you can use traditional media. Opinions like this are what keep me from going to an art school. I don't want to have to deal with people who may take this stance. I go digital for:

1.) Convenience; If I make a mistake with one of my lines, "undo" and its taken care of. If I were doing it on paper, I'm OCD enough with my work that I would scrap it and start over (I've done this before which is part of the reason I quick inking traditionally).

2.) Cost; I buy a program and "Boom" thats it. Free updates, etc. Sure a new version may come out every now and then, but I don't have to upgrade. Though when it comes to traditional media, everyone knows that there are some materials that are better than others and they cost MORE than what my program cost me. Plus when they run out, I gotta buy more ink, new pens, etc.

3.) Portability; I see this in the opposite light that the other people who claim its easier to just whip out a pen and start drawing. Sure, thats all well and good for doodling, but what if you want it to be something you can actually take further and finish? Why should I have to redraw my napkin drawing bigger when I can just draw it on my laptop and have it available to edit at any time?

Meh, I guess I just really needed to vent. Reading shit like that pisses me off and has drained me even more of any desire to draw. I'm sure that there are artists out there who, like me, are very insecure about their work to begin with, then to have deal with faceless elitists who say we're not skilled because of our preferred medium just makes it worse. I need to just stay off the internet and not read shit anymore.

Fuck it, gotta go fix the washing machine now :<
