Just finished this piece tonight. Its the first abstract work I've done that takes up an entire page. I've been working on it a bit here and there at work for the past six days or so, a couple hours each day.
The majority of the upper left corner was done with Copic multiliners and Rapidograph liners. The right side and bottom sections were done with medium and large Copic Brush pens (one of the only times I've used them in a completed work as I find them difficult to use, but enjoyed using them in this piece).
I decided to go with two completely different pen types to give it two completely different looks (which would have turned out better if I planned on doing that from the start and had done all the edges with the brush pens and just the center were the liners), the more structured and and stiff liner parts and the more flowy brushed parts.
Also, sorry it was taken with a camera, but my scanner is buried under a bunch of comics and my cigar humidor and I was too lazy to move all that stuff. That being said, the camera still captured pretty much ALL of the detail of the drawing.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I love it, I love the way you let things flow in your drawings. Everything fits with each other which makes it one piece =] I'm very jealous ;o
Got some unscannable artwork? Own a camera but no scanner? Here's a guide of things to consider in order to effectively take quality photographs of your work. [A tutorial by `fox-orian]
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
